The Camden Street area is a thriving locality right in the centre of Dublin, within a few minutes walk of St. Stephens Green, Grafton Street & Temple Bar. With intimate restaurants and small shops lining the streets, it is popular with tourists and locals alike. One of my favourite pubs, the Bleeding Horse which dates from 1710, is situated next door to the hotel. The Camden Deluxe Hotel is the a great choice for young tourists because of its proximity to all that's best in Dublin. It's just a pleasant walk from the hotel to St. Stephen's Green with its music stand, flower beds and fountains. From there, historic Trinity College, fashionable Grafton Street and the riverside artist's quarter, Temple Bar, all beckon.
The Hotel was originally the old Theatre DeLuxe from which it takes its name. Renovated to modern standards on the interior, each of it 34 ensuite bedrooms come equipped with direct dial telephone, television, tea / coffee making facilities and hairdryer. The exterior façade has been preserved as it was in 1957 when the theatre closed its doors.
Facilities at the hotel include a large Poollhall that can hold up to 150 people and contains 20 pool tables. There is also a private snooker room as well as fussball tables, video games and dartboard. The Picture House restaurant offers an A La Carte menu and also provides a full carvery lunch every day. Guests can also enjoy a bite to eat and a coffee at the Good Food Café. In the evenings, the Picture House Bar is the place to go for a lively atmosphere and good craic.
Camden Street is a hub of nightlife. A great alterntive to Temple Bar which is usually where most tourists can be found. Camden Street would be a very popular alternative for young people in Dublin. You will find trendy bars, clubs to suit all needs, restaurants and live music venues all within a few minutes walk away.
