![]() Detailed on-line guide to Hotels in Dublin City and County. This section details Dublin hotels by price & location with specific sections for luxury Dublin hotels, budget hotels, tourist hotels and hotels in Dublin suitable for business visitors. Depending upon the reason for your visit, the area guide should prove useful in determining the most appropriate area in Dublin for you to stay.Area 1: Dublin City Centre, South of The RiverThis is probably the best area for shops, pubs, tourist attractions etc. It includes Temple Bar, Grafton Street, Trinity College (Book of Kells), St Stephens Green and the National Concert Hall. There is a good range of hotels but they tend to be more expensive and finding accomodation during peak months can be difficultArea 2 - Dublin City Centre - North of The RiverAlthough this area includes historic O'Connell Street and the main bus terminal, Busarus , the area north of the river tends to be a little less popular than the southern side. There are, however, many fine hotels in all price ranges and finding availability can be a little easier than on the south side.Area 3 - Dublin South City: Ballsbridge / DonnybrookThis is the area to be for business people, sports fans & diplomats. Most visiting celebrities, from rock stars to presidents stay at either the Berkeley Court or Jurys. The area is convenient for all embassies, the RDS ( Royal Dublin Society ) and Landsdowne Road ( Rugby & Soccer Internationals ). It is 5 minutes from the City Centre and well served by Taxis, Trains & Buses.Area 4 - Dublin Suburbs North - Near AirportVery convenient when visiting for business , particularly if the company that you are meeting with is on the north or west of the city as there is now excellent motorway links to the City and via the M50 to the West & South West of the City).Area 5 - Dublin City & Suburbs: South CityGood range of quality accomodation. For visitors coming by ferry, this area is close to the Dunlaoghaire ferry terminal, convenient to Montrose ( TV Studios) , University College Dublin and the many overseas companies such as Microsoft in the large Sandyford Business Park.Area 6 :Dublin City & Suburbs : West CityWith the motorway links now developed, the area to the west of the city is very attractive as a place to stay for convenience. The new M50 Motorway has reduced travelling time to the airport to under 20 minutes. The Naas Rd. area is on or near the main routes to all points West & South West ( Waterford, Cork, Kerry, Limerick , Shannon & Galway. By car, it takes less than 15 minutes to the City Centre.Area 7 - Dublin City : North & NortheastBetween the City & the Airport, this area offers a good variety of Hotels & B&B's. Tends to be less expensive than the city centre but still very convenient. There are a number of nice hotels in Howth, Portmarnock and Malahide that are worth checking out particularly if you are into golf.Best Regards
