Introduction
Built in the 13th Century, the Barberstown Castle is a historic Country House Hotel just 30 minutes from Dublin International Airport and the City Centre. It has maintained the style of a traditional Irish castle, while at the same time offering modern services and amneties. Within the walls you will find murials and decorative pieces dedicated to those who have lived in it, making you feel like you are walking amongst a bit of history.
Accommodation
Each of the Castle's guestrooms are ensuite, and have all been decorated individually. These rooms too are dedicated to the people who have lived in them. Every room provides guests with the height of comfort and old-age style. Many of the rooms offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
Facilities
The onsite restaurant in renowned for its cuisine, both creative and traditional. Food is served every evening, and you will not be left hungry. The Restraunt has consistently recieved Rosettes from the AA for its A la carte menu. Golf can be played at the nearby Kildare Country Club (soon to be host of the 2005 Ryder Cup). Hunting, Racing, Tennis, Gym, Squash and Clay Pidgeon Shooting are all available in the area. Should you wish to go fishing the River Liffey is nearby, full of trout and salmon. Otherwise, simply enjoy the calm, serene surrounding Kildare countryside.
