In the village that is home to the worlds oldest distillery, between the Giants Causeway and Royal Portrush Golf Club this award winning hotel and restaurant has been outstandingly successful in re-creating it's origins as an old Coaching and Mill House. Open peat fires, gas lights and striped pine set the tone in this living museum of Ulster Hospitality while the Restaurant has an international reputation in serving the best of new Irish cuisine.
The oak beamed Loft with it's fireplace "snug" is the gateway to the Mill House on the banks of the River Bush. Here the spacious bedrooms have their own sitting room area and small dressing room and all are en suite with either bath or shower. Complementing the Mill House are the original rooms in the Coaching Inn individually decorated and furnished in comfortable cottage style again all en suite but either with bath or shower.
This "Taste of Ulster" restaurant welcomes visitors all day for a selection of traditional dishes and snacks imaginatively prepared from fresh local produce. Overlooking the garden courtyard the Restaurant takes in the original 17th centuary stables and features intimate snugs, whitewashed walls, a "wee" kitchen and a basement wine cellar. It's the gas lights that set the tone and inspired the name of this Victorian style bar. Pull up an armchair to the fire or take a stool at the bar counter and join in "the craic" - a local expression for a good time. You won't have to drink a glass of Bushmills whiskey but you might have to tell a story!
