Derry is a hilly county with scenic glens, river valleys and to the south, the Sperrin Mountains, all offering great walks and hiking routes. If you prefer the seaside, well then a trip to the beautiful beach of Castlerock is not to be missed. The historic walled city of Derry was founded in the 6th century when St. Columba founded a monastery beside the river Foyle. The walls still remain intact and it's possible to stroll along them, there's a Tower Museum which will tell you all about the history of Derry city.
