Rich and rolling in green countryside, with its famous "Drumlin" hills is the county of Down. It looks out over the Irish Sea and in the south the beautiful Mountains of Mourne "sweep down to the sea". The Mourne Mountains are great for fishing, hill walking, horse riding and climbing, Slieve Donard reaches a height of 848 meters. Downpatrick is the ancient county town where the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick is supposed to have been buried 1,500 years ago.
