The Shannon, Ireland's largest river, is another of the serene locations travellers flood to (if you'll pardon the pun) year after year. You can take a cruise up the river itself, or head towards the coast of Clare to the mighty cliffs of Moher. These cliffs, stretching 700 feet from the water, look out over the Atlantic Ocean and must be seen to be appreciated. Limerick is favourite with the golfers and fishing types, though it is also one of the many historically rich areas of the country.
