Located in the centre of Blarney village and overlooking the village green, John Forrest and his friendly staff are well placed to advise you on your trips around the locality - the Forrests have been proprietors of the Blarney Castle Hotel, established as a inn in 1837, for three generations.
The Blarney Castle Hotel has 13 tastefully appointed bedrooms, all recently refurbished to an above three star standard. Each room has either king or queen size beds with private bathroom, direct dial telephone, satellite television and internet link up. Many of the rooms overlook the village green.
There is a secure private car park at the rere of the hotel, available free to guests.
Eating and Drinking
All rates are inclusive of a Full Breakfast menu, served between 7.30am & 11.00am.
In the evening, savour the fare of The Lemon Tree Restaurant. Overseen by Ian Forrest, who trained at the world famous Ballymaloe Cookery School, and head chef Paul O'Donnell the restaurant specialises in making use of the finest of local ingredients in season, complemented by a wine list carefully selected by Michael O'Callaghan of Longueville House.
As befits its origins as a village inn, the signature of the Blarney Castle Hotel is its main public bar. Long an institution in the village, "Johnny's" allows you to down a pint of stout with visitor & local alike in a real, unspoilt, Irish pub atmosphere. Senior barmen Michael O'Leary and William Healy have between them over 60 years service in the Blarney Castle Hotel.
For private dining, meetings and discussion groups, the Clogheen Room is an enchanting room with antique furniture and fireplace, overlooking the village green.
Guests avail of a 10% discount at the hotel shop - The Craft Studio - which offers a wide range of locally & West Cork produced handcrafts.
Outside, stroll around the village, one of only three in Ireland with its village green preserved, or take a short walk to Blarney Castle or the equally famous Blarney Woolen Mills. For golfers, there are no less than nine excellent courses within a half hour's drive.
