Introduction
Longueville House, Co. Cork , a listed Heritage Georgian Manor (1720) boasts a splendid Victorian Conservatory which was constructed in 1866 by Richard Turner, the greatest ironmaster and designer of glasshouses of the Victorian era.

The Longueville Conservatory illustrates the lightness of effect made possible by new glass technology which allowed Turner to use bigger and wider panes than he had used previously at the Botanical Gardens, Belfast (1839), Glasnevin (1843-69) and Kew (1848).
